IIBM held a strategic planning workshop with the participation of its academic and administrative team.

The Institute of Biological and Medical Engineering (IIBM UC) held a full day of strategic planning that brought together part of the administrative team -including the academic coordinator and the communications coordinator- together with all the professors who make up the academic community of the institute. The purpose of the activity was to analyze the current state of the IIBM, project future challenges and define lines of action to strengthen its academic, scientific and formative development.
During the meeting, several key issues for institutional growth were addressed, including the promotion of new associative projects, the evaluation of the competitiveness of the doctoral program and opportunities to establish or expand international collaboration agreements. Financing alternatives were also reviewed, such as seed funds or other ways to promote research and innovation within the institute.
A relevant point of the conversation was the review of the training offer linked to the Major and Minor degrees, as well as the exploration of proposals for the creation of new diploma programs that respond to the emerging needs in biological and medical engineering. To this was added the analysis of mentoring initiatives aimed at supporting the academic and professional development of students and young researchers.
The meeting also included a space to define communication strategies aimed at strengthening the positioning of the IIBM both within the university community and in the national and international scientific environment. Lines of action were discussed to better project the academic work, interdisciplinary research and technological advances promoted by the institute.
The event took place in an atmosphere of presentations, exchange of ideas and constructive conversation, allowing to identify shared objectives and establish strategic priorities for the coming years. These reflections will serve as a basis for consolidating the role of the IIBM as a reference in research, training and technological development in the service of health and biomedical engineering.
