D. in Chemical Engineering, she began her research career at the Instituto de Investigaciones Marinas del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (IIM-CSIC), Spain; however, after spending several years of postdoctoral research at the University of California Santa Barbara, she is now largely dedicated to the development of algorithms and tools for modeling physiological, biological and biomedical systems.
In 2016, Professor Rodriguez joined the UC Institute of Biological and Medical Engineering as an academic and then also served as director of the Postgraduate area of the same entity from 2018 to the present. There, she is also dedicated to the development of various lines of research focused on the creation of new models and algorithms for the field of biomedicine.
