- Summary
Dr. Aguayo is a Dental Surgeon from the Faculty of Dentistry, Universidad de Concepción, Chile and holds a PhD in Biomaterials from the Eastman Dental Institute, University College London (UCL), UK. His current line of research focuses on the exploration of initial adhesion interactions between bacteria and surfaces in the context of biofilm formation, both at the cellular and subcellular levels, using a combination of macro- and nano-scale techniques.
He is currently Assistant Professor at the School of Dentistry and the Institute of Biological and Medical Engineering UC.
